I love to collect makeup and play around with my look. I used to be a makeup artist in film and television, headshots, wedding and I worked for Bobbi Brown and Stila. I am Obsessed. I could spend hours in Sephora trying out all the fun products they have, hair and skin included. I worked for Stila in Texas as a senior sales rep. (one of my favorite jobs to date), traveled in the south every weekend selling their amazing products. I did this job while I studied Cosmetology in Houston and was even offered a full-time position after I completed my studies. I did not want to live in Houston permanently, so I turned them down and returned to Vancouver. I then went into hairstyling, and on weekends I worked for Bobbi Brown at Holt Renfrew, another favorite job.I began to become busy on my new venture in hairstyling. I do miss doing makeup as it comes quite naturally for me and there is nothing better than making a client feel beautiful. I eventually got married, moved to Langley and was pregnant with my first child. Doing hair in the city was not going to work with the family life I was building, but I didn’t want to let go of my career. When I graduated from high school, I went to BCIT for Interior Design but felt I was too young and didn’t put my education to good use at 19. After I had my beautiful son, I went back to BCIT and took some courses to update my education. The rest is history but makeup still so fun to play with.
We all age and our makeup become’s different to suit. I find I wear foundation more which was a hard adjustment for me and I love a bit of contour. I use powders for that, but I am dying to try Kim Kardashian’s new cream contours and brushes. I am usually a lipgloss junkie, but I am enjoying matt long wear lip colors as well. I love Glo foundation for my mature skin. It doesn’t sit it my crease’s, has terrific coverage and the anti-aging properties work in conjunction with my skin care. Why spend all that money on your skincare to just clog up your pours, with your foundation. The powder is my fave too.
I have put together some of my favorite fall products for you to shop, so have fun and get pretty with me.
This is a natural look for the daytime any day of the week. I am using my Fall Glo makeup palette.
Glo Fall palette and Shimmer Brick by Bobbi Brown.
You can use this Bobbi Brown Shimmer brick any way you like. Bronzer Face and Body, highlighter, eyeshadow. It is a great all in one product. Love, Love, Love!!!
Brushes are so essential and make applying makeup so much more comfortable. I love Bobbi Brown’s or Stila, but I do know they can be expensive. Glo or Mac have excellent price points and are lovely as well. They will last you years making so take the plunge and invest in a set you love.
Bobbi Brown’s concealer does a fantastic job of concealing those nasty dark circles, blemishes, and any pink or red tones from your skin. For my brows, I use Bobbi’s eyebrow kit and have been forever. I do love all Anastasia’s brow products too.
